It is me, or are men notoriously difficult to buy for? When I compile gift guides for her, I find myself having to condense the list down, but almost didn’t even bother with a gift guide for him. Essentially, I just didn’t want to try to fill a post out by recommending average and uninspiring picks. That is until I asked Jamie to write me a Christmas list of things he’d like, and inspiration struck. Who better to give insight into what the men in our lives actually want for Christmas than another man?

So here it is, I’ve had absolutely no input into the recommendations within this guide. Maybe that’s for the best! Though, as I await Jamies recommendations, I am a little worried that I should have read them before buying some of his Christmas gifts. Oops.

STAR WARS JEDI: FALLEN ORDER GAME | £49.99

If you know he likes Star Wars and he has a games console, this is a pretty safe bet. I wouldn’t know where to start when it comes to buying games for Jamie, but this is a new one so it’s a pretty safe bet that if he already has it, you’d know about it.

VINTAGE FOOTBALL HOME SHIRT | (IPSWICH) £40.00

Jamie has about six football shirts so there’s no way I’m buying him another one. This is a pretty good pick though, that I wouldn’t have thought of myself. On the Ipswich site there’s a Seasonal tab which directs to Gifts For Him, so head to the site of whichever team he supports and you should find some inspiration there.

ODEON LIMITLESS | FROM £17.99 PER MONTH

Initially Jamie suggested cinema tickets, which is a pretty good idea as I love gifting experiences. If you live somewhere with an Odeon though, their limitless subscription would make a great gift for anyone who likes their movies. The subscription, as the name suggests, allows unlimited movie access as well as discounts on certain chain restaurants like Chiquito’s.

APPLE WATCH S3 | £189.00

This is a pricey one, so I’d recommend being pretty certain that it’s something they want as well as checking the returns policy, just in case. For smaller things to open alongside it, a watch strap to fit would also make a good gift.

F&M THE PORT & STILTON BOX | £55.00

If he likes his port and cheese then this is another no brainer. My Dad and Jamie both love port so I usually buy them a different bottle each and they share between them. I’m sure that a few places sell nice ones, but Waitrose or Fortnum & Mason are where I usually buy from.

GAME OF THRONES BOOKS | £9.99

Books make great gifts, but if he’s not a huge reader but shows interest, the best bet is to buy within existing interests. If it’s a series, like the Game of Thrones books, then I’d suggest buying the first and gauging the reaction. If he actually reads it and appears to enjoy it, then great, carry on with the series for future gifts.

WOULD I LIE TO YOU BOARD GAME | £24.99

Would I Lie To You is such an easy watch that I’d take a guess at it being pretty well liked. If you know he watches, then great, if not then stick it on and gauge his reaction. I love buying games as gifts for people I’ll be spending Christmas with as playing new ones in the afternoon has become a bit of a tradition.

DOLCE & GABBANA THE ONE FOR MEN | £55.00

You’d think aftershave would be a pretty safe bet, but Jamie’s actually pretty fussy. I’d typically go high-end and get a gift receipt, or I buy ones he’s had before and that I know he likes.

WOODWICK ELLIPSE CANDLE HUMIDOR | £17.99

We love having candles around the house, and they make the perfect stocking fillers. It’s his home too, candles are 100% a good gift for men as long as they like lighting them too.
