The two months since my last empties post passed quicker than you can say ‘goodbye summer’. As such, reluctantly, I’ve accepted that it’s now Autumn. It isn’t that I don’t love the idealistic associations we have with the season of crunchy leaves and pumpkin spice, it’s that I really, really dislike its soggy, cold, and gloomy alter-ego. Let’s just say that I’m keeping my fingers crossed that we experience more of the former this season.

Regardless, there’s something satisfying about completion. It possibly has a lot to do with the promise of a fresh start that accompanies the end of a season or using up the very last of a product. So with that, here are my thoughts on my makeup, skincare and haircare empties from the last two months.

MAKEUP

REVOLUTION GLOW FIX | £5.00

Quite unsurprisingly, this doesn’t much compare to my higher end fixing spray favourites. That’s not to say that I wouldn’t recommend it. On your average day, when you don’t have full-glam to set, this is fine for doing the job at a fraction (around a quarter, to be precise) of the price.

What this is really good for though, is skin prep. A couple of sprays onto your Beauty Blender before using it on concealer and foundation, and you’re set. It definitely gave me more of a glow (admittedly in the use of the last half of a bottle, given that I’d not adhered to the ‘shake before use’ instruction).
